These terms govern your use of Snack, an AI-assisted food-logging app. By downloading, installing, or using Snack, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Snack is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, nutritional, or health advice. The calorie and nutrition estimates Snack generates are produced by an AI model (Google's Gemini) from a photo or description you provide, and are approximations, not verified measurements. They can be wrong, sometimes significantly. Snack shows you an editable confirmation screen specifically so you can review and correct an estimate before it's saved, and you're responsible for reviewing that estimate, not just accepting it.
Snack is not intended for use in diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing any disease or medical condition, including diabetes, eating disorders, food allergies, or any condition requiring precise dietary control. If you have a medical condition that depends on accurate nutrition tracking, or any concern about your diet or health, talk to a doctor or registered dietitian, don't rely on Snack alone. If you have a food allergy, always verify ingredients yourself; never rely on an AI-generated estimate to determine whether a food is safe for you to eat.
Snack requires Sign in with Apple to use. You're responsible for keeping your Apple ID secure. You must be old enough in your country to consent to these terms on your own, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
Snack may offer optional paid subscriptions through Apple's App Store, subject to Apple's own terms. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends; manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID account settings, not in the app itself. Prices and what's included in a paid tier are shown in the app before you subscribe, and may change with advance notice.
Snack is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Snack does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated estimates will be accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snack's developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, health outcome, or other harm arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including reliance on an AI-generated nutrition estimate. Where liability can't be fully excluded under applicable law, it's limited to the amount you paid Snack, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Your food log and Health data belong to you and are stored on your device and your own iCloud account, not on Snack's servers, see the Privacy Policy for the full detail on what Snack collects and where it goes. You can delete the app at any time to remove your local data, subject to Apple's own iCloud data-retention behavior for anything already synced.
Snack may add, change, or remove features at any time. If these terms change in a meaningful way, the "Last updated" date above will change to reflect it, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
You can stop using Snack at any time by deleting the app. Snack's developer may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where a different jurisdiction's consumer-protection law otherwise applies to you as a consumer.
Questions about these terms can be sent through the app's own "Send Feedback" option in Settings.
